The 7411 can be used independently as an 8-bit variable TTL data generator but can also be used in conjunction with the 7406 and 7407 as a data input generator. The unit has the facility to feed external clock (TTL) up to 1MHz which is available at the Cloak Out Socket on the front panel, otherwise the unit operates on an internal 240KHz clock
