Programmable Logic Device

Model: PLD

The Programmable Logic Device (PLD) uses a GAL (Gate Array Logic). These versatile devices can emulate many different PLD’s and they are reprogrammable - a significant advantage for development work. GAL’s require a programmer, GAL chips can be static sensitive and prone to handling damage. Device PLD’s are designed on the PC and their configuration downloaded to the trainer through the interface cable. The devices do not need to be removed from their sockets, thus reducing the risk of damage by handling.

The ISP concept requires no programmer because the devices have a simple serial interface to the PC. ISP covers a range of devices and it includes an in system Programmable version of the 22V10

The PLD provides a variety of hardwired exercises which introduce programmable logic and has three main features including two ISP PLD’s.
